Why the US

What no one tells you before
you go but should.

Straight from students who've made the move. The real reasons to go, and the real things to prepare for.

World's top-ranked universities. Genuinely.

The US has more top-10 globally ranked universities than any other country. MIT, Harvard, Stanford, Caltech, Columbia — the brand recognition of a US degree opens doors in every industry worldwide.

OPT: 1–3 years to work after graduation.

Optional Practical Training (OPT) gives you 12 months to work in the US after graduation. STEM graduates get an additional 24-month extension — 3 years total. No job offer needed to start.

On-campus work from day one.

F-1 students can work on campus up to 20 hours per week during term time and full-time during breaks. No separate work permit needed. Off-campus CPT and OPT open up further options.

The network is real.

US alumni networks are among the most powerful in the world. A degree from a strong US university connects you to a global professional community that actively supports its graduates.

The honest bit: the US is expensive.

New York and San Francisco are among the most expensive cities in the world. A studio in NYC runs $2,500–$3,500/month. The play is to go to Boston, Chicago, Austin, or a strong state university city — same world-class education, significantly lower cost of living. Outside the major coastal cities, $1,200–$1,800/month gets you a decent shared place. Budget for this before you apply.

“I was convinced the listing I found on Facebook was real until my friend showed me the same photos on a scam alert page. The fact that Acolyte physically visited the apartment changed everything. I slept properly the night I confirmed the booking.”
