Optional Practical Training (OPT) gives you 12 months to work in the US after graduation. STEM graduates get an additional 24-month extension — 3 years total. No job offer needed to start.
F-1 students can work on campus up to 20 hours per week during term time and full-time during breaks. No separate work permit needed. Off-campus CPT and OPT open up further options.
US alumni networks are among the most powerful in the world. A degree from a strong US university connects you to a global professional community that actively supports its graduates.
New York and San Francisco are among the most expensive cities in the world. A studio in NYC runs $2,500–$3,500/month. The play is to go to Boston, Chicago, Austin, or a strong state university city — same world-class education, significantly lower cost of living. Outside the major coastal cities, $1,200–$1,800/month gets you a decent shared place. Budget for this before you apply.

Student reviews
“I was convinced the listing I found on Facebook was real until my friend showed me the same photos on a scam alert page. The fact that Acolyte physically visited the apartment changed everything. I slept properly the night I confirmed the booking.”
“Moved to Boston for my Masters. Messaged Acolyte support at 11pm when I couldn't get the heating to work on my first night — someone replied within 20 minutes and had the landlord call me by midnight. The support makes the difference.”
“My parents in Hyderabad were more nervous about housing than I was. I showed them the Acolyte verification report for my apartment — the physical inspection notes. My dad read it three times. They finally stopped worrying.”
