Home Park is the most popular student neighbourhood due to its walkability and affordability. Midtown offers excellent access to MARTA, restaurants, and city amenities, while Atlantic Station is popular for shopping, entertainment, and modern apartments. Graduate students often choose Virginia Highland for its vibrant restaurant scene and comparatively lower rents.
Tech Square is Georgia Tech's innovation district located directly adjacent to the main campus. It is home to hundreds of startups, corporate innovation centres, research labs, and major employers including Google's Atlanta office. The district provides exceptional access to internships, networking opportunities, and CPT-eligible work experiences within walking distance of campus.
Atlanta's MARTA system uses a reloadable Breeze Card for train and bus travel. Atlantic Station is a popular choice for students seeking modern apartments and retail convenience. Graduate students often choose Virginia Highland, Old Fourth Ward, or Inman Park for character and lower rents relative to Midtown. All these neighbourhoods are within 10 to 20 minutes of campus by walk, bike, or MARTA.
