This guide explains how to identify the official platform, find your courses and materials, fix common access problems, protect your account and get official help. Details marked Verified (NTU) come from NTU-hosted pages. Anything marked General advice is practical guidance, not an official statement. NTU can change its systems, so confirm anything important with NTU.

Is it "NTU Blackboard" or NTULearn?
Verified (NTU). NTU's Centre for IT Services lists "e-learning (NTULearn)" as one of the services your network account unlocks. Other NTU-hosted pages, including NTU Library guides and NTU's learning-tools pages, tell students to log in to NTULearn and give web addresses on ntulearn.ntu.edu.sg. Those addresses contain the word "blackboard", which is why many students call the platform "NTU Blackboard".
What we could not verify. NTU's pages we could access do not state which Blackboard version NTULearn uses. Some third-party student sites describe it as "Blackboard Ultra", but we have not treated that as confirmed. The practical point is simple: use the name NTULearn when you search NTU's site or ask for help.
Watch out for other universities. "NTU" is also an abbreviation for Navajo Technical University and Nottingham Trent University, and both have their own Blackboard or login pages. If a page does not belong to Nanyang Technological University, close it.
How to find the official NTULearn page
- Go to NTU's main website at www.ntu.edu.sg and check the footer links, or use the Student Intranet.
- Look for NTULearn on NTU's pages. NTU-hosted guides give its address as https://ntulearn.ntu.edu.sg.
- Bookmark the page you reach, so you do not need to search for it again.
- Sign in with your NTU network account, following the instructions on the page itself.
Verified (NTU). NTU says your network account is used for e-services, e-learning (NTULearn), library databases and campus computers. You must change the initial password before you can use any e-services. NTU also keeps a separate Office 365 EDU account for email, and the two passwords are not synced.
General advice. Do not type your NTU password into any site you reached through a message, email or advert. Check the address in your browser first.
What you will find in your course sites
Verified (NTU). NTU Library and research-integrity guides show that:
- each course has its own course site inside NTULearn
- you can search for a course under the Courses area and join certain non-credit courses using an enrolment link
- course content can be organised under menus such as Course Modules
Described by NTU student pages and third-party sites (confirm for your course). Student-run pages describe NTULearn as the place for lecture slides, readings, lecture recordings, announcements and assignment submission. NTU's pages I could access do not list every feature, and your instructor decides which tools each course uses. Some faculties may not record lectures.
Verified (NTU). Some tools sit behind your course site rather than having a separate login. NTU's LAMS page, for example, says LAMS sequences are accessed through your course site in NTULearn, and that users cannot log in through the LAMS login page directly.
Finding course materials and assignments
General advice. There is no single layout that applies to every course, so use this routine:
- Sign in to NTULearn and open the course you want from your course list.
- Check the course's main menu or content area for folders such as lecture notes, tutorials or assessments.
- Look for announcements first. Instructors often use them to explain where things are.
- Read the assignment instructions carefully, including the deadline and the file type required.
- Submit early, and keep a copy of what you submitted along with any confirmation message.
- If you cannot find something, ask your instructor or school office before assuming the system is at fault.
Verified (NTU). Course registration is a separate service. NTU's Student Intranet describes Course Registration, Degree Audit and Financial Assistance as commonly used e-services. If a course is missing from NTULearn, check your registration first.
Common access problems and what to try

Keeping your account secure
Verified (NTU). NTU warns about fake emails, SMS and WhatsApp messages. It says to check links before clicking and to delete suspicious messages without replying or forwarding them. If you clicked a link or typed in personal information, NTU says to change your password immediately on its official password site and contact the IT Service Desk. NTU also advises anyone affected by phishing to make a police report.
General advice.
- Never share your password, one-time codes or authentication prompts.
- Use a long, unique password.
- Sign out of shared computers.
- Do not share course materials, assessment details or exam links publicly. Your course rules may restrict this.

If you will be studying from your accommodation, reliable internet matters. Verified (NTU). Hall pages on NTU's site mention data network ports in rooms and study or reading rooms with printing, though facilities vary by hall. NTU also provides device-specific Wi-Fi setup guides for campus.
General advice. For off-campus housing, ask whether internet is included, how fast it is and whether you can use your own router.
