Western Sydney University Village Parramatta

Great place for students to live. The university is only a 2-minute ride away on the shuttle bus, and there is a public bus stop conveniently located right outside the village. One of the best parts of living here was the opportunity to make friends from all over the world, which feels quite rare these days. In fact, I made more friends at the village than at university. Several of my classmates also lived here, which made it very convenient for us to work on group projects together. The study area is next to the reception, although it is a little small, it is convenient .I often use the university library instead, as it offers much more space for studying. The reception staff are lovely, friendly, and always willing to help. Reception is open until late, which is very convenient. I also enjoyed the events organised each week. The chaplaincy dinners and Red-Frog dinners are particularly popular and provide a great way to meet people. While the building itself looks a little dated from the outside, most of the rooms have been renovated and are quite modern and comfortable. The premium rooms include air conditioning and are noticeably better than the standard rooms. Overall, the village is safe, well located, and offers a supportive community. The staff are extremely helpful, but what I value most is the lifelong friendships I made here. Many of the friends I met during my stay helped me through my university years, and I am still in touch with them today.

The village staff are friendly and always helpful. Weekly social events also happen. This helps students connect with residents from different countries. The village is very close to Parramatta South Campus, within walking distance. There is also a free WSU shuttle bus to Parramatta South and Parramatta City Campus. It is really nice student dorm to start university life!

I love that they provide free breakfast and dinner for students! They also host different events every month, which is a great way to meet and get along with other residents. Plus, having 24/7 security is a huge bonus.

Great location for students! It’s only a 7-minute walk to campus, and the free shuttle service to the university and Parramatta CBD is a huge plus. Super convenient with bus stops nearby and plenty of parking if you drive.

This this accommodation is good for students that are studying in Australia. They have 24/7 staff available. Students are treated as adults helping them to become more independent, making them ready for the real world experience. Definitely recommend this place for international students.

Best decision I’ve ever made staying at the village, the memories, community ,and friends made it amazing. Rooms are nice and have everything you need. Staff is always wonderful and happy to assist!

Although more expensive than areas around it, there are frequent events, free dinners, and a community that make the price about right. My personal living area was not up to par, but of the many I saw mine was an outlier, and many are quality living spaces. Maintenance tends to be focused on ensuring everything works, and less about perfection, which is understandable for smaller things.

Great atmosphere, ideal condition for student seeking accommodation near the University. Support staff are also highly professional, kind and caring, specifically Shivani who has kindly guided and helped me on several occasions.

Overall, my experience living in this dorm was not very satisfactory. The location is relatively inconvenient, especially in terms of transportation. When I first moved in, the accommodation itself was acceptable. However, over time, my roommates changed frequently, which unfortunately led to shared areas becoming quite messy. This significantly affected my living experience and comfort. In addition, the reception staff were often unable to effectively address my questions or concerns, which made it difficult to resolve issues in a timely manner. One aspect I found particularly frustrating was the way urgent notifications were communicated. Important and time-sensitive information was sent via text message rather than email. As sometimes I not use a local phone number, I did not receive these urgent messages, which caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience. For accommodation managed by an educational institution, I believe more reliable and inclusive communication methods should be used. Overall, if you have other accommodation options available, I would recommend carefully considering them before choosing stay here.
