Old Fire Station

I've stayed in several different halls during my time as a student in Aberdeen, and the Old Fire Station is by far the best. Friendly, kind, helpful staff; great facilities which are easy to access (laundry, mailroom/letterboxes, etc.); lovely rooms which are spacious and fairly priced. The building itself is well-maintained and there are frequent inspections of showers, kitchens, etc. Plus, you're in a perfect central location with Union Street and Aberdeen Uni campus very close by. Would recommend to anyone coming to Aberdeen to study.

A very good accommodation, I’ve been living here for 4 months, a good combination of price and quality, there is a common room where you can play billiards and other board games, the rooms are normal in size, all the furniture is in good condition, the only thing I wanted was a shower with a long and controlled spout. The staff works 100%; if possible, all requests are resolved within one day. In general, I am very pleased with the accommodation.

One of the best student accommodation in Aberdeen, very fast internet service, staffs are available 24/7 and are very friendly.

I have lived here at the old fire station for 3 years and I can honestly say that I wouldn't want to live anywhere else throughout my time at university. The staff are like family and are available 24/7 to ensure all students are cared for. The security team are on hand at all times as well as the maintenance team, but all members of staff are there to support you and your wellbeing whilst living away from home. The front desk staff are always on hand to help with day to day concerns, and Gary in particular goes above and beyond to ensure all students are looked after. I highly recommend considering this property to stay at if you're looking for a home away from home, it has certainly been the best decision I've ever made!!

I have lived here before the new management, and I must say that the quality went down DRASTICALLY after Unite Students left. The buildings are old and dirty, especially the lifts and laundry room are disgusting, and I know many people who have had issues here - leaks, smelly rooms, broken appliances, issues with the shower drains not draining properly, broken fans, moldy floors, broken and missing bathroom shelves, broken faucets, and more. Some of the issues are fixed somewhat quickly, but some are not fixed properly at all. The property is just not maintained well enough for anyone to want to live here long term. You can live here for your first year max, but not longer, because you will start to grow grey hairs. I will say, most of the staff is nice, but I wish there was "set" receptionists again, and that the receptionists didn't go from location to location. It was much nicer always having the same few receptionists there during the old management team and now many are unfamiliar because there's a different one every day. So, I would honestly not recommend the Old Fire Station to anyone.

An excellent base for Aberdeen students. Very fast internet, all bills included. 24 hour support staff available for those unexpected emergencies. Also a good mix of international and local students. Parents will feel confident that this is a safe place for young people who are living independently for the first time. Rooms are small but comfortable. High standard of maintenance.

Staff is friendly, but a mouldy old building with erratic water supply. Sometime doors lock you out — so gotta keep the keycard in your pocket (even if stepping out for a second). Also, they cut off heating at the source to save money, even if you're freezing. Finally, thanks to less-than-professional cleaning services, you'll be living in a sty in no time! Other perks include: - a vacuum cleaner whose filter is never changed; choose b/w choking foul odour or "cleaning" your room - doors that lock you out, and key that may stop working - an invisible iron

I have lived here for the past year and it has been very good so far. The rooms and service is fab. Parking is provided which is very helpful. The security team do a good ensuring everyone is taking care of and are always there to help. Staff at the front desk are keen to always help.

Great accommodation for my first year of college, very welcoming and the staff are great. Very friendly and always there to help you if you need it. Gary also gives you free noodles!
