Positives of Fraser Court: Close to the city and Uni gym as well campus such as kings and Moray house. It’s about a 20min walk but there is constant bus routes right outside the accommodation that you can use all times of the day even a night bus past 12pm. With the Ra’s planning a lot of socials throughout the year as-well as the mental health services were great. With the rooms being a good size and good amount of storage. With the pretty much looking like the picture. Negativities to Fraser Court: On bottom floor you can struggle a lot to get to sleep due to being able to hear everything single word anyone says outside (Very bad on days people have gone out) A-swell as people smoked etc outside my room which spelt not so pleasant. With also there being a VERY BAD mouse problem at Fraser court. Which was a struggle to get addressed and has been an issue throughout the whole year. This is not just on bottom floor this goes all the way up to top floor.

All in all, I’d say I like living in Fraser court; flats are small enough for you to really know eachother, good sense of community and a really good common room. Bedrooms are a good size and it’s relatively well placed between the city and a big supermarket. Not too noisy and wifi is usually good, occasionally spotty but it is on the entire university network. The RAs make an effort to put on fun events for us all.Downsides however: have a bad mouse problem which they refuse to really acknowledge and will charge you if you report mouse problems then put a toe out of line on the cleaning front. The mouse problem is clearly ongoing because it’s been reported on here for years, but they will blame you. There’s been problems this year with people putting holes in the common room wall and snapping pool cues, which they have charged us all for, but won’t put in CCTV to stop it happening. Three circuit washers and dryers for the entire accommodation which results in waiting but not too bad.

Unlike some other comments that I've seen, I think Fraser Court is one of the best accommodations in Edinburgh especially the value for money. Compared to other accommodations (even the more expensive ones) that I've been to the rooms are really big with a lot of space to pack your stuff. One of the things I like the most is the location of Fraser which is near the main road and Holyrood park and is perfectly in the middle between King's buildings and George Square. It allows you to meet a lot of people and at the same time not being in the middle of the main road and not being able to study. Everything is at a walking distance. The common room even if we couldn't use it this semester is really cool with a TV, you can play billiard, etc... The downside is for sure the wifi Optify that sometimes might crash but honestly, it's the same in Pollock, Hermit's or Sciennes so honestly who cares (uni system I guess). It is overall a great accommodation and I recommend it.

Overall, you do NOT get what you pay for. I’m accustomed to noise living in a big city at home, but when people are outside my room I can hear them word for word and cannot sleep. The cleaning services are abysmal, the flat is always vile, as well as the overall accommodation services. The hot water lasts 7 minutes in the shower, so be prepared to freeze! Heating is crap, again, be prepared to freeze. The fridge freezes all our food. So we get to defrost our mayo!! we have had mice all year, which has resulted in me being more ill in the past 8 months than I have been in my whole life. On the plus, the rooms are large and everything else seems to be fine. It is well located and has aided me in making friends. However, I fully regret having paid so much for something that is entirely not worth it.
