Your deposit will be returned to you at the end of your tenancy agreement and after your room has been inspected. The amount returned to you will depend on any outstanding charges and any damage found in your room or common areas of the apartment. Please refer to your tenancy agreement for more information. It may take up to 30 working days for the deposit to be credited at the end of the tenancy period.
When applying for a room you will be asked a series of questions to determine the type of room/apartment you require, and any special requirements you may have. Please note that unless you have a disability as defined and covered by the Equality Act 2010, the hotel cannot guarantee that your special requirements will be met. If you have a clear disability, we will try to accommodate your allocation needs wherever possible. If you have a disability, medical condition or special requirement that affects your accommodation requirements, please let us know in the additional notes section of the online or paper form when completing your application. We encourage you to disclose any special requirements for your accommodation, such as your preference for culture, religion, sex, gender etc., so that we can make an informed decision about your room allocation. Where appropriate, applicants may be given priority in the allocation category for disclosing a disability to us.
You will need to make a formal request to the accommodation team at the property you are living in. If you request to move during your tenancy you will also receive new documentation confirming the details of the room move, which you will need to sign or accept online. If your new room is more expensive then you and your guarantor will be liable for the higher rent from the date you are admitted to occupy it.
If it is a sublease order, please note the original landlord A and tenant B when recording the order 1. The order of the original landlord A needs to be returned 2. Deposits vary from property to property and your deposit will be placed into a deposit protection scheme where it is held securely throughout the academic year and will be returned to you at the end of your contract in accordance with the terms of your contract. The deposit you pay on application cannot be used to pay rent in instalments as it is protected by the deposit protection scheme for the duration of your tenancy.
