LIV Phoenix Place

I lived there for 2 years, only just moved out. It’s the only place I didn’t want to leave, it’s the best price, close to town, great rooms and the staff are genuinely the best. If you want to walk to town from there you can, if you want your car with you, you can park for free cos it’s just out of town enough. I can’t thank all the staff enough, I’m so glad I stayed at Phoenix for my last 2 years of uni

Great location, close to everything including central centre. The accommodation is very welcoming and they try their best to help you with any issues. Rooms are really nice and they have some nice and friendly staff working there. Stayed there all 3 years of my university time and I don’t regret it once.

I couldn’t recommend this place more! You will not find a better place for the price in Liverpool! The entire staff and security put so much effort into making this accommodation feel more like a home than just a place to stay temporarily. The staff are extremely helpful and there is always 24hour security so you are always so safe here compared to other accommodations ! I have never had an issue with anything in the flat as everything is so new! The building manager hosts lots of events throughout the year so there are plenty of opportunities to socialise and there is a games area on the ground floor with a ping pong table, TV and Xbox. 🙂🙂🙂

I lived at Phoenix Place during my final year of uni and I've loved every minute of it. It's a nice, brand new accommodation not too far from the city centre and less than a 10 minute walk from the Byrom Street campus and local shops, which made the location very convenient for me. The staff are also what contributed to making my time at Phoenix Place such a pleasant one as they were very attentive and helpful from the moment I moved in to the moment I moved out. I couldn't have asked to stay at a better accommodation!

I stayed at Phoenix Place in 2023, renting a studio for £140 a week, and overall, it was a great experience. The location is convenient, with a 25-minute walk to the University of Liverpool, making it easy to get to campus. Nearby, you'll find everything you need, including a large Home Bargains, B&M, Sainsbury's, and Lidl. Plus, all the popular food chains are close by, along with a Gym Group. The accommodation is well-serviced, with a bus stop right outside that takes you straight to the city center. The management, Cloud Student Homes, was fantastic—friendly staff and timely maintenance made living here stress-free. If you're looking for a decent student accommodation in Liverpool, I'd definitely recommend Phoenix Place.

This is a really lovely accommodation overall, modern and well-kept. The rooms are a good size with plenty of storage, and the rent is fair considering what you get. The staff are also very friendly and helpful, which makes a big difference. That being said, there were a few downsides during my stay. The location in L5 is not the most convenient, as it takes about 20 to 25 minutes to walk to the university or the city centre. Amenities are also quite limited. There is a nice study room and a small communal area, but it would benefit from something extra like a small gym or a movie room to bring tenants together. In Block B, one of the lifts was out of order for most of my 51-week stay, which was frustrating, especially if you lived on the higher floors. Another issue was the eco-friendly heating in the rooms, which automatically switches off every 10 minutes. This was really unhelpful during the freezing Liverpool winters. I reported the issue, but maintenance never came. When I eventually got a space heater, I was told to remove it because it was a fire hazard, so I ended up being cold for much of the winter. Overall, despite these issues, it is still a nice place to live with good value for money and a welcoming team.

I stayed there throughout my final year, and unfortunately, I didn't have a pleasant experience. The elevators constantly broke down, there was inadequate ventilation in the building (extremely hot top floor), and the Wi-Fi would drop every single day during my stay, which was especially frustrating during my final exams and coursework. And don’t get me started on the situation with the washing machine kept on breaking… Additionally, there was a noisy primary school located right next to the accommodation. I would not recommend staying here, especially if you're heading into your final year.

Stayed here from September 2022- June 2023. The place is a brilliant price for what it is, essentially a well sized room and an en-suite and good kitchen/living space. I think two separate companies run the place, I was with Vivo if it makes a difference- I think it complicates things a little bit but not enough to really bother you, just means you have to contact different people if you need help. Not had many problems with the room itself ; the desk is a good size, plenty of storage space including storage under the bed (which is also a decent double size). The only issue is the pipes are quite small I think so the shower does tend to clog up and I have spent more money than I care for on drain unblockers- many people have had the same experience. The wifi has also been a bit of a problem- even though it has improved massively lately. There would be days where the wifi was not working whatsoever so doing uni work was a task- and for some reason signal is quite bad so I have been left without data and wifi for hours which proved very challenging. Another thing to be aware of is that this accommodation is not uni-owned, so you can really get put with anybody whether an undergrad or masters student. Therefore you can be put in with a 30 year old even if you are 18, not everyone minds this but I personally didn’t enjoy it. Reception staff are great, always helpful and understanding and willing to sort things out for you when you need it. The accommodation is a bit out of the way from the city centre and for me, the Uni but not too much of a walk and it’s worth it for the price.

studio room,uni liverpool student. Positives: Free Parking outside. building quite new. a171 is one of the bigger studios due to the layout of the building. Negatives: Quite a long walk to campus. the studio for its location is expensive and small. you can find better and bigger studios that are cheaper by Jamaica street or x1 the studios. No table included with the studio. they are stingy when it comes to returning your full deposit. I have always received my deposit back in full from all my accommodation's except this one. I have been deducted £15 because I left a toilet brush behind, mattress protector and hand soap. There was a bit of dirt in the shower(attached) but I highly doubt all this costs £15 to clean! Don't stay in room a171 because there is also a constant buzzing sound. This had been reported but nothing was done to solve this except suggesting changing rooms. Summary: There are better studios around the docks etc, that offer much bigger rooms and better prices and who also pay back the tenants full deposit without issues.

The rooms were fine however the internet was constantly down, lifts would constantly break and there was a real problem with noise (which would regularly go on until 7am) and mess in the communal areas of flat. As I was a Masters student I was working full time and coming in from work Between 1 and 3am to be met with loud from the room next and somebody else’s mess to clean up, when I decided to stop cleaning up their mess the kitchen started failing inspections and then I was threatened with paying for cleaning. I raised this and tried to get out of the contract however I wasn’t able to get someone else to take over the tenancy. I ultimately decided to move out 3 months early and obviously had keep paying rent since I couldn’t find a replacement tenant. It just wasn’t good enough. I also checked out on July 27th when I came to get the last of my belongings and didn’t receive my deposit back until mid September after emailing them directly.
