My time so far in Harry law has been alright. You’ve got to be careful as your room automatically locks behind you so you have to take your room key any time you leave the room. While the showers can flood the pan quickly this can be slowed down by reducing the pressure using the dial at the top of the shower head. One thing I would recommend is bringing a dehumidifier to help dry out the bathroom after your shower. The room is quite warm, mine stays at about 20 to 23 degrees. The kitchens are the main pain-point, some are larger than others. Mine is a ex bedroom converted into a kitchen that fits four people, but there is only room for one to cook at any time. There is a lot of maintenance as well, most to do with the water ATM, you get emails warning you ahead of time though. There are also a a few shops local (Tesco express & Sainsbury’s local) which is useful to get emergency supplies. A larger Tesco & other shops are not overly far away. Overall, it’s an alright place to stay.

If you value your mental health and want to still possess a will to live at the end of the year do not live at Harry Law. I genuinely have no idea where to start with this place. I have had countless maintenance issues, faulty plug socket, never any hot water in the bathroom sink, sink doesn’t even turn off properly, showers flood within seconds of turning them on, not to mention the extractor fan in my kitchen literally blew up and tripped a fuse turning off half the electrics in the kitchen. They are constantly doing maintenance work but nothing changes, currently writing this while my flat has no water at all, because they need to do emergency work on some of the heaters. Apparently isolating the hot water, but I have no water full stop. The place is just very depressing overall and isn't great for socialising. For the same price you can live at Trafalgar hall owned by unite students, which is far nicer. Make sure to apply for halls as soon as you can or you will end up stuck here.

lowkey feels like a prison tbh, majority staff are just rude for no reason even though all your asking them to do is pick up a package on a shelf 2 feet away from them. shower literally floods before it heats up. socialising is only good if you make a proper effort but it really depends on who’s in your kitchen or who you meet in like the first week. there is a common room but it’s in bateson lol. wifi wasn’t too bad but i couldn’t facetime for like 2 months for some reason. security also always annoyed for doing their job, which they’re lowkey not even good at. doors lock behind you so you’ll probably get locked out a few times. locations calm youre only 2 mins away from spoons. heating don’t work. always matinence going on but i don’t think ive noticed anything actually changing. whole vibes depressing but it is cheap so makes sense ig.

Great value for money compared to Catherine house and other accoms. All rooms are en suite, and share a kitchen with a maximum of 6 people. Very fast Wi-Fi (150–500 Mbps via ethernet). 15-minute walk to most university buildings and shops. Cleaners occasionally mop your kitchen floor and provide you with free bin bags. Rooms with odd numbers face the outside and even numbers face the inside (e.g. 356 will neighbour 358). However, There isnt a set social area for each flat other than the kitchen which works fine anyway. The receptionists can be quite rude sometimes but they will do what you ask them to no matter how much they protest. If you leave your shower damp you'll occasionally see a silverfish, but this is the same in any accom and nothing to fear just remove it like a spider. Any issues are usually fixed in around a week, likely longer when you first move in because everyone will be reporting every issue under the sun. Any previous reviews other than 2024 seem to be outdated now

You get what you pay for to a certain extent. Its the cheapest option and you get a bed, a desk and various storage units. However it is by far the worst accomodation and the difference for somewhere like rosalind and franklin is much more worth it. Upon arriving there was already a multitude of mold problems. The rooms are relatively small and the kicthen is hard to use as a social area due to its small area. Location is good nice and near. The people in reception are mostly nice but some inspections are overtop and rude. Personally found the shared bathroom and shower perfectly fine and in an okay condition. To really conclude, if you want the cheapest option to save money, you will be completely fine to pick bateson. If you are more picky and know you want a nicer living space with more room and a modern look. And if you do go there , get an air filter as its very stuffy with a lack of airflow.

Bateson in itself is not the greatest , you get what you pay for at the end of the day . The whole flat feels stuffy all the time due to the lack of ventilation in the shower room or anywhere else as a matter of fact this means that we had some mold in the shower . The kitchen isn't the best but it's alright it just that some of the hobs sometimes don't work properly or take long to turn on which is pretty dangerous so they should check that . Aside from this it's a great location 5 minutes away from the centre and it's cheap

Good hall to stay but Laundry service is too expensive. For basic cleaning starting from 3.30 pound per wash load and for drying 2.50 for 2 hours drying or you can pay .60 for a 15 min blast dry which is not effective. Laundry service should be less expensive. a good starting point should be 1.50 or max 2 pound.
