Ollie, Greg and Kim were fantastically helpful throughout my stay and attended to my problems quickly and efficiently.

In the 3 years that I have lived here, not once has any member of staff failed to go above and beyond for me and my friends, all who have lived in various blocks of Fenton. Not only is the reception team amazing at handling queries and maintaining, in my opinion, the best student accommodation to high standards (making sure that spaces are always kept clean and tidy <3, or that the mini garden is always bursting with flowers and plants!!), they are also kind, friendly, approachable and, basically every great characteristic I can think of. I’ve lived here for 3 years now and created so many memories within Fenton, good and bad, but each experience has literally changed my life for the better. I definitely attribute these experiences to the overwhelming support/consideration that has come from a couple stand out members of Fenton House’s team. Within the reception team, I want to highlight Charlotte, Archie, Rob, (honourable mention Mr Khan) for never failing to, quite frankly, make sh¡† happen regardless of the circumstances. They’re genuinely superstars who understand that sometimes the uni experience isn’t so straightforward for every student. Even when things have been going wrong or unexpected, one or all of them has been there to check in, offer support, give advice, or just sit with someone going through it. Honestly, it’s not a level of care that I expected to receive from /any/ accommodation, let alone Fenton House. But truly? If you want to live somewhere that feels like a home away from your home, live here. You may not even need it but i’m here to let you know that you will get it at Fenton House because I experienced it, and I watched them all show up in so many different ways, no matter how big or small, for the people I lived here with. And, that’s just mentioning the daytime staff. If anyone has been lucky enough to meet Mr Khan, the 🐐 of the security team, you’ll know exactly what i’m about to talk about. This man is the sweetest, kindest, most tenacious and down right awesome human I have ever met. Like, he’s Mr Khan! He is a member of the security team at Fenton House and, while he does an absolutely fantastic job at keeping us safe, (monitoring social areas and keeping the site peaceful), he does an even greater job at looking after Fenton in the absence of the reception staff. He’ll strike up a conversation whenever possible, greet you in passing as he surveys the building, sit down with you for a chat in reception about anything and everything, and (if you’re lucky) drop in on your flat birthday party to wish you a happy birthday (after he politely asks you to turn the music down :D) (this was a couple years ago, maturity brings headphones and booking the hub, a spot dedicated to laughter and joy!!). You can find him in reception, the courtyard, or sat at the outdoor shelter where there’s usually a group of tenants surrounding him in conversations that he’ll invite you to join! In the event of any queries or concerns about the level of safety within Fenton brought to Mr Khan, they are diligently handled by him and made sure to be passed along to the reception team. The staff are always locked in and handle all of Fenton’s needs as a coherent, balanced team, more like a family from an outside perspective. Fenton also hosts and caters to many social and cultural events throughout the academic year like bingo, Holi, tote bag or canvas painting, pub quiz nights, funfair-esque events, halloween events in the hub, Eid celebrations, christmas parties, and a huge end of year celebration where they bring out the works (ice cream vans, surfboard simulators, other fairground equipment!) - and that’s only what I can recall right now. I write all of this to say, if you want to live somewhere secure, close to both universities, in a great location, and well equipped for endless social experiences, live at fenton house. But, if you want to live somewhere that is run like the navy, welcoming, supportive, a home away from home, and really freakin awesome? Live at Fenton House 💚 - velma! ☆

Mr. Khan is the best security man ever he’s very friendly and helpful, such a nice person

Facilities are clean and staff are friendly but the TVs in some flats are not updated, i visited a friend in another flat and their tv was really outdated and they didn’t have newer apps which was a bit unfair since other flats had newer TV models. I hope management can take this into consideration

Terrible. The staff here do not care about you at all. They will pretend that they will take actions just to end a conversation with you and then never actually follow through on anything. I had a horrible experience with my flatmates here and after really trying to make it work, I ended up asking to move flats because I was being isolated and it was starting to affect me negatively. I knew that this was something they had done for others with less reason to move but they seem to pick and choose whether they can be bothered to accommodate you. I was spoken down to and met with complete indifference, and after going back to them numerous times they claimed that they would try and would reach out to me, except I never heard from them again. I ended up having to move out early. This was just one of multiple issues I had. I would not recommend this place.

I stayed over the summer. I was placed in a flat which already had an absolutely filthy kitchen, so I ended up having breakfast, lunch, and dinner elsewhere for the entirety of my stay -- it had a big impact on my experience at Sheffield. This overshadowed the superbly kept communal spaces. Room and private bathroom were quite good, but a bit hot (the windows open too little). Bed was just short for me (~1.80m), so its tight frame would nudge me to a diagonal position while I slept. Staff was reasonably helpful. Price seems to be on par with other accomodations. Your mileage may vary depending on your flatmates. I do not recommend joining after them (i.e. after the most common contract starts), as you may end up inheriting the same filth as I did. Still grossed out by the microwave I had to use on weekends.

HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND I lived in A block at the time and during this period, there was floods twice during my time in this block (this was a period of 3 months) of which the staff organised us to move for a couple days. The latest flood incident occurred was during the recent heatwave of which I had to move all the foods i had to the spare room fridge freezer as the electricity would be gone for a couple days as informed by the staff and also the electrician. The morning after I was notified it was safe to move back in, there was a miscommunication between the management team and the cleaning team of which they said the flat was empty and so all my food and items were WRONGLY discarded. (Btw this was a full shelf of food and 2 freezer slots) I spoke to reception immediately. They were very understanding, admitted the miscommunication, and reassured me that I would be reimbursed for the lost items. However, it has now been a full month since this incident. I have been repeatedly chasing up Fenton management on this matter, and I have been met with complete silence. They have offered no reimbursement, no solution, and are failing to take accountability for their mistake. I will update this review if they finally decide to make this right.

Mr Khan is the one who make me really really enjoy when staying here, he so kind and always ready to support me. Multiple times I forgot my key, get the delivery stuff at midnight, etc but he never complain and always happy to help. Best staff ever ❤️🔥

I've had a great experience living at Fenton House. The atmosphere is welcoming, the facilities are excellent, and the staff are always friendly and professional, which makes it feel like home. A special mention has to go to Mr. Khan. He is genuinely one of the kindest and most helpful people here. No matter the time of day, he's always approachable, greets everyone with a smile, and is happy to help whenever residents need anything. What I appreciate most is how dedicated and professional he is. Whether it's dealing with an issue during the night, making sure the building is safe, or simply checking in with residents, he always goes the extra mile. Knowing he's on the night shift gives everyone a real sense of comfort and security. His positive attitude and commitment to his job don't go unnoticed, and he makes a real difference to the experience of living here. Fenton House is lucky to have someone like Mr. Khan on the team.

I’m having a great experience staying here and for me the biggest highlight is one of the security team, mr. Khan! He’s very professional and always helpful and would instruct and guide me when I wanna know about something in this accommodation. He’s also very friendly and approachable .. really made my stay a best stay yet!

If you're ever wondering about staying at Fenton House, rest assured that Mr. Khan, the security guard, is incredibly helpful and will make sure all your needs are met. He really made my time there wonderful and truly a pleasure. It's a lovely place to stay, with kind people and a great atmosphere.

I had a great experience staying here during my time at the University of Sheffield. I moved here in my second year in Sheffield after hearing so many great things about the accommodation, and its convenient location close to the city centre made it an easy choice. A special thank you to Mr. Khan and who was always friendly, helpful, and available whenever I needed anything. I highly recommend this accommodation to any student looking for a welcoming and well-located place to stay.
