The equipment is very new, the room is clean and everything is complete. Although the ideal area in my mind is larger, it is also very warm and cozy. Except that after changing the air conditioner, the room doesn't feel particularly warm anymore, and it's a bit troublesome that the front door can't be entered by swiping the card or entering the password at present, everything else is quite good. I am currently living at London Road Apartments and, unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing. The location is excellent and is probably the only major positive aspect of this accommodation. Beyond that, the quality of the accommodation, the handling of resident concerns and the overall value for money leave a lot to be desired. I moved into Room 18 in April and reported problems almost immediately. On arrival, there was visible white dust and debris throughout the room, including on the mattress, inside the wardrobe and around the apartment. Even the complimentary tumbler provided in the room was dusty. Despite this, I was informed that the room had been professionally cleaned, sparkle cleaned and signed off by management before my arrival. The most serious issue has been the lack of effective ventilation and the extreme heat inside the room. My room receives direct afternoon and evening sunlight and becomes unbearably hot during warm weather. The windows only Thank you for leaving a review :) ! ★☆☆☆☆ A BIG NO. The location of London Road Apartments is excellent, but unfortunately that is where the positives end. I moved into Room 18 in April and reported issues almost immediately. The room contained visible dust and debris despite being described as professionally cleaned and signed off before arrival. I also experienced problems with the shower shortly after moving in. The biggest issue has been the extreme heat and poor ventilation. My room receives direct afternoon sun, becomes unbearably hot during warm weather and remains uncomfortable well into the evening. The windows only open slightly, there is no air conditioning and the ventilation system has done little to improve conditions. I have had to rely on multiple fans just to make the room bearable. Opening the windows creates another problem, with flies, beetles and spiders regularly entering the room. What has frustrated me most is the response to concerns. Despite numerous emails over several months regarding overheating, ventilation, cleaning and maintenance issues, not once has a senior member of management visited the room to assess the situation firsthand. There always seems to be an explanation for why a problem exists, but very rarely a practical solution. For the rent being charged, I expected far better. If you are considering staying here during the summer months, think carefully before booking.
Great location, however this is the only positive thing about the place. The rooms are of poor quality and the staff do not have the urgency to deal with any issues that need to be dealt with. There is constant disruptive noise coming from the bathroom/shower area with regards to the plumbing however have been told there's nothing that can be done. There is also mould in the shower which still has not been removed which is poor health and safety. The room was a state when I moved in and had not been cleaned properly, there were also broken items which still have not been replaced. The company is charging a high rent for this however choose to change their prices once term starts for any late comers, therefore anyone who is looking to rent here, wait until the prices have dropped to benefit as it is not worth the current money I am paying.
I lived for 2 years there and I have nothing but great things to say. The rooms are spacious with a great interior. There is a little bit of noise coming from outside due to the central position of the halls but everything is fixed once you close the windows which are noise-cancelling. Tesco is right below so you do not have to walk a long distance to get groceries. Also, there are several cafes, pubs and restaurants around that area! Excellent customer service, every time I raised an issue with them they solved it right away. During this time when Covid-19 affects everything, they really empathised with us and helped us with various issues (accommodation fees, mental health etc) I 100% recommend this place!!!
London road is located very close to the City Centre, which is perfect for socialising on Friday nights. 10 minutes bus ride from Uni Southampton and an easy 5 minute walk to Solent Uni if you happen to go there. Excellent customer service, with very compassionate staff! They are always happy to resolve any issue that may come up. The studio has got a comfortable setting with the breakfast bar set up with your small kitchen area for cooking delicious meals.
Good location. But the maintanence and the management of the building didn't really match up with the price I paid. There were episodes of ant infestation which never really went away during my one year stay. I hope for the new tenants, the situations have improved since, but I'm not really sure why this accommodation is given such high recommendations by some reviewers, because judging from other reviews apperently some maintanence problems seem to persist nevertheless.
