Private landlords and property managers in Melbourne do not typically require a UK-style guarantor. Instead, rental applications in Victoria require proof of income or savings, a student visa, and references. For students without Australian rental history, showing bank statements covering 3–6 months of rent, a letter from Deakin confirming enrolment, and strong references is standard practice.
Deakin University Indian Club Burwood is one of the most active cultural societies on the Burwood campus — running Diwali celebrations, Holi, cricket tournaments, cultural nights, and social events throughout the year. It's the primary community for Indian students at Deakin Burwood and is a good first point of contact when you arrive.
