Bills all included, super close to the center, that's the best way to make friends. I didnt speak english well at all and met friends from other countries that were in the same situation, it helped me a lot and it definitely helped me for my 1st year in the city/country !

This is a really good accommodation, but the reason I am giving it only a 2-star rating is because of their EXTREMELY LOW HYGIENE LEVELS. 1. Rats everywhere. There were rats in my kitchen, and every night I would see them running about the courtyard. This is the most serious hygiene breach and a serious health hazard. 2. There is absolutely no protocol for bad hygiene standards in the kitchen. If you get bad flatmates, good luck, because the staff really don't care. They will give you a warning, and you have to hope that your flatmates will clean up for the inspection. I have had people leave their half-eaten food out for weeks until mould formed, and I had to throw it out myself. 3. Nobody cleans the elevators or the common spaces. I have seen garbage bags left open outside the bin in the common kitchen area, and nobody has come to take them out for days. The elevator always stinks of trash, and my corridor space was absolutely disgusting. They do not have enough cleaning staff, and when they do come once a week, they barely do the basics. 4. The rugs in the common area smell horribly, especially in the summer. No idea when they were last cleaned or if they were ever cleaned at all. 5. MAGGOTS in the fridge. A friend of mine had maggots in her kitchen because some meat was left out, and the Canvas staff did not pay to have it removed. My friend had to get it done themselves and pay for it too! While the contract states that the private spaces are to be taken care of by us, the flat's kitchen is still a common space, and no one person can be held responsible for several others who share the flat. Additionally, it is the building owner's responsibility to ensure basic hygiene is maintained to address health concerns. Every time I have complained to the front desk, they have taken no action. They really don't care. There are certain things which are acceptable in student accommodation, but serious problems such as rats and maggots absolutely cannot be tolerated. The rent isn't cheap either! While I loved my spacious room and bathroom as well as the common areas such as the study spaces, I was let down by these major issues. I wish I could say my time in Canvas was perfect because of the lovely aesthetics, but ultimately the negatives outweigh the positives, and if I could, I would just rent an individual apartment in a better part of town than stay in a place like this ever again.

I appreciate that the accommodation team responds quickly to maintenance requests; however, I am extremely disappointed with the ongoing noise issues. Building C is located very close to a pub, resulting in excessive noise that occurs regularly, particularly every Saturday and Sunday. This has significantly affected my ability to rest and has negatively impacted my overall living experience. Another ongoing concern is the reported issue regarding rats, as I have noticed similar complaints in previous reviews. The most disappointing aspect is that... The rebooking price is considerably higher than a normal contract, yet despite contacting the accommodation team and requesting a fair arrangement, my concerns have been dismissed without any meaningful solution. I feel that this is unfair, particularly as I have continued to choose this accommodation despite the inconvenience caused by the noise issues. TO SUM UP, PLEASE DO NOT PROCEED WITH REBOOKING, AS THE PRICE MAY DECREASE SIGNIFICANTLY (BY AROUND £2,000).

Don’t waste your money! We currently have rats, this is the second time we’ve had them in our kitchen and this problem is in other peoples flat’s too. Downstairs is a private dining area, it was completely empty last night, I asked the night staff if i could use it to cook because we have rats, he said no I need to pay for it. There are many other costs they don’t tell you about before you move in, you’re already paying a lot of money, and if you want to use the facilities it’s extra money on top. Some people I know also had a lot of stuff stolen from their rooms around January, just after the Christmas break. The staff members will also come in your room sometimes without informing you (this happened to me in November.)
